Andrew Stepich was born on January 7, 1920, in Whiting, Indiana. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stepich. Lt Stepich entered the army in 1941 and was commissioned at Fort Benning, Ga., on February 1, 1943. He served in Africa, Sicily, and Italy, and later in England for the June invasion in France.

Serving in Company E of the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Lt Stepich was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 24 in France. He is now buried in the Saint John Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hammond, Lake County, Indiana, USA.
