James Edward McGuire, aged 28, was born on April 16, 1916, in New York County (Manhattan), New York. He enlisted on January 3, 1941, in Troop F, 101st Cavalry Regiment, NYNG, New York City.

At the time of his death, James was serving in the 569th Bomber Squadron, 390th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Flight Officer and Pilot on the B-17 #42-107070 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 27, 1944, when his airplane crashed near Parham, England. F/O McGuire is now buried in the Saint John Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens County, New York, USA.
