James Lawrence Trotter was born on December 25, 1925, in Lons Angles County, California. He was the son of James Arthur Trotter and Ramona May Kriss Mayda.

James served in the 569th Bomber Squadron, 390th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Tail Gunner on the B-17 #42-107070 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 27, 1944, when his airplane crashed near Parham, England. Sgt Trotter is now buried in the Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California, USA.
