Hamilton Harvey Swasey was born on December 24, 1923, in Ryegate, Vermont. He was the son of Tracy Adelbert Swasey and Arlene Rhoda Jennison Swasey.

Hamilton served in the 569th Bomber Squadron, 390th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Flight Officer and Co-Pilot on the B-17 #42-107070 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 27, 1944, when his airplane crashed near Parham, England. F/O Swasey is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
