Devore Murdock, Jr., aged 20, was born on December 27, 1944. He was the son of Devore Murdock and Blanch L. Stephens Murdock.

Devore, Jr. served in the 569th Bomber Squadron, 390th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Ball Turret Gunner on the B-17 #42-107070 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 27, 1944, when his airplane crashed near Parham, England. Sgt Murdock is now buried in the Centenary Cemetery, Greasy Ridge, Lawrence County, Ohio, USA.
