Raymond Charles �Ray� Spaulding III was born on June 13, 1949. served in the 55th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 20th Tactical Fighter Wing, as a Captain and Weapon Systems Officer/Navigator on the F-111E 68-0003 "Aardvark" during World War II. He was killed on December 19, 1979, when his airplane crashed on the west side of Craignaw Hill, Scotland, during his training flight. Cpt Spaulding is now buried in the Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, Sacramento, Sacramento County, California, USA.
