Robert N. Lincoln was born on June 12, 1925, in Missouri. He served in the 849th Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Waist Gunner on the B-17 #43-38128 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 13, 1944, when his plane was shot down by flak and crashed at Fuerth-Saar, east of Ottweiler, Germany.
Sgt Lincoln is now buried in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA. He was previously listed as Missing in Action and his name is inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing, Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France.
