Roy Emerson Caver was born on January 21, 1919, in Texarkana, Miller County, Arkansas. He was the son of William Heard Caver and Mattie L. Echols Caver.

Roy served in the 850th Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Top Turret Gunner on the B-17 #43-38068 during World War II. He Died of Wounds on March 28, 1945, in the crash of his plane (belly-landed) on March 9, between Gusternhain and Breitscheid in Germany. He was taken to the next military hospital at Herborn but did not survive.

Sgt Caver is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
