George W. Denman was born on May 7, 1922. He was the son of Lural Almon Denman and Genevieve Irene Lindley Denman.
George served in the 861st Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a First Lieutenant and Navigator on the B-17 #43-39226 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 30, 1945, when his airplane was shot down by flak and crashed in Pinneberg, Germany. Of the crew, 1Lt Denman was the only casualty.
1Lt Denman was declared Missing in Action and is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands. He has a cenotaph located in Crestlawn Cemetery, Tennessee.
