Norman Sheldon Lamoreaux was born on September 12, 1917, in Dundaff, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Harry Lamoreaux and Elizabeth B White Lamoreaux.

Norman served in the 863rd Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot on the B-17G #43-38271 'Big Buster' during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 13, 1945, when his B-17 was hit by flak and crashed at Bauscheim, Germany.

1Lt Lamoreaux is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France. He also has a cenotaph located in the Clifford Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
