Donald Lee Henderson was born on November 21, 1926, in Kansas. He was the son of Arthur Lee Henderson and Rose Jane Henderson.

Donald served in the 861st Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Tail Gunner on the B-17 #44-6278 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 10, 1945, in Belgium, on return from a mission to Köln, Germany.

Sgt Henderson is now buried in the Old Mission Cemetery, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, USA.
