Jerome "Jerry" Albom was born on February 18, 1917, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of Aaron Harry Albom and Ida Albom.

Jerome resided in Baltimore, Maryland, prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on September 5, 1941, prior to the war, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted as being employed as a Retail manager and also as Married.

Jerome served served in the 813th Tank Destroyer Battalion as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 23, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin in France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
