Claudie Baughn was the son of Charles Dee Baughn and Mary Annie Wilson Baughn. He entered military service in Alabama and served in the 117th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Baughn was Killed in Action on August 28, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin, France, and is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
