Stanley Potter Carty was born on December 15, 1919. He was the son of Raymond and Amelia Carty.

Stanley served in the 117th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 28, 1944, at the age of 24, during the liberation of Vexin, France. SSgt Carty is now buried in the Zion Cemetery, Bargaintown, Atlantic County, New Jersey, USA.
