Thomas E. Chandler was born on June 11, 1924. He was the son of Albert Preston Chandler and Vivian Irene Harrison Chandler.

Thomas entered the service on February 6, 1944, and received his training at Camp Wolters and Camp Meade, Maryland. He served in the 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 28, 1944, at the age of 20, during the liberation of Vexin, France. Pvt Chandler is now buried in the Chambersville Cemetery, Chambersville, Collin County, Texas, USA.
