Charles E. Bunn was born on March 9, 1921. He was the son of Charles Hurley Bunn and Ethel Mae Bryant Bunn.

Charles served in the 120th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 30, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin, France, at the age of 23, during the liberation of Vexin, France. T5 Bunn is now buried in the Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, Wilson County, North Carolina, USA.
