Jack Downey was born on January 16, 1912, in Kentucky. He was the son of William Downey and Ara Patrick Downey.
Jack served in the 79th Reconnaissance Troop, 79th Infantry Division, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 24, 1944, at the age of 32, during the liberation of Vexin, France. T5 Downey is now buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA.
