James F. Carlin was born on January 30, 1925. He was the son of Charles Vincent Carlin and Mary Agnes Britt Carlin.
James served in the 315th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, at the age of 27, during the liberation of Vexin, France. SSgt Carlin is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
