Salvator D. "Samuel" Ferranti was born on August 5, 1924, in Rochester, New York. He resided at 74 Sellinger, Rochester, Monroe County, New York, prior to the war.

Salvator enlisted in the Army on September 22, 1942, in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in a machine shop and also as Single, without dependents.

He served in Company B, 749th Tank Battalion, 79th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, at the age of 20, during the liberation of Vexin, France. Pvt Ferranti is now buried in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, Monroe County, New York, USA.
