Marvin Emil Leinweber was born on September 6, 1917, in Hondo, Texas. He was the son of August John Leinweber and Wilhelmina Henrietta Reitzer Leinweber.

Marvin served in the 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot on the P-47 #42-27222 "Peg O'my Heart" during World War II.

On August 10, 1944, he took from Advanced Landing Ground A-8 in Picauville, France, on an armed reconnaissance mission. At approximately 12:00H, his plane was shot down by flak, crashing into the town of Bion - 5 km southeast of Mortain. He was able to jump out of his airplane, wounded, and was taken as a prisoner by the Germans. He died on August 24, 1944, in a hospital in Paris.

1Lt Leinweber is now buried in the Hondo Cemetery, Hondo, Medina County, Texas, USA.
