Charles H. Waldmann, Jr. was born on June 13, 1912, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of Charles Henry Waldmann and Dorothy Madeline Mason Waldmann.

Charles Henry, Jr. served in the 328th Bomber Squadron, 93rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and Left Waist Gunner on the B-24 #42-40983 'Bar Fly' during World War II.

On April 1, 1944, his crew took off from Hardwick, England, for a mission to Germany. At 11:52H, on return from their mission, their plane was shot down by flak and enemy fighters between Fresne-les-Reims and Burgundy, France. Unfortunately, none of the crew members survived. The MACR cannot be found, but it is possible that the plane crashed in Belgium.

SSgt Waldmann is now buried in the Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA.
