Robert Francis Siebert was born on October 18, 1919, in Westmoreland City, Pennsylvania. He served in the 850th Bomber Squadron, 801st Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Bombardier of B-24 #4251124 during World War II.
On June 19, 1944, his plane took off from Harrington, UK at 2306 on a weapons drop for the Columneaux cell of the Resistance. Some say the plane clipped a tree and others maintain it collided with an RAF plane but the result is the same: the aircraft crashed at 0030, leaving no survivors. 2Lt. Siebert was buried at Jeannette Memorial Park, Jeannette, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.
