Herman A. Westhouse was born on June 30, 1923, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of Herman L. Westhouse and Charlotte Lucretia Stoll Westhouse. He served in the 585th Bomb Squadron, 394th Bomb Group, as a Staff Sergeant and Radio Operator Gunner on a B-26 Marauder, based in England during World War II.
SSgt Westhouse was Killed in Action on June 14, 1944, during his 44th mission over France. He is now buried in the Eden Memorial Park, Schiller Park, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
