Mr. Wysong was born June 18, 1918, in Port Washington, N. Y., the son of Alison Wysong and Margaret (Griscom) Wysong. He was raised and received his education in the Port Washington community. Following high school, he attended Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va., where he received a bachelor's degree in Political Science.

He was a veteran of WWII, having joined the U.S. Army June 10, 1941. He served in the European Theatre in the Second Armored Division as an aide to Gen. Gaffey. He received the Bronze Star, Oakleaf Cluster. He served for five years until his discharge Feb 11, 1946, at the rank of captain.

He married Virginia Y. Romeyn Aug 11, 1945 in Huntington Valley, Penn. Following his discharge from the Army, they moved to Oregon, settling in Eugene. They made their home in Eugene for 39 years until 1985 when they moved to the Forest Grove community. They celebrated their 55th anniversary this month.

He worked as a real estate broker for many years, having owned and operated Wysong Realty in Eugene and Florence until 1984 when he retired.

He was a member of St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Forest Grove. His interests included flower gardening, photography, spending time with his family and grandchildren and taking trips to the coast where he enjoyed walking and combing the beach. He was an active member of the Democratic Party.
