Carl Wilton Krempin was born on October 9, 1920, in Coryell County, Texas. He was the son of William Carl Krempin and Etta Jackson Krempin. He entered the army in 1943 and T5 Krempin served in the United States Army with the 740th Tank Battalion in World War II. Known as the “Daredevil Tankers”, the 740th was a separate battalion that fought from Utah Beach all the way to the Baltic Sea in support of various divisions of the US war effort.

T5 Krempin died from his wounds received in battle on January 4, 1945, in Belgium. He is now buried in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA.
