Robert William DeFazio was born on February 15, 1984. He was assigned to the 23rd Ordnance Company in Miesau, Germany, and later deployed to Afghanistan to support Operation Enduring Freedom.

Spc DeFazio died on April 24, 2005, from non-combat-related injuries sustained in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA.
