Ashly Lynn Moyer was born on April 25, 1985, in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Michael Moyer and Jane Drumheller. She served with the 630th Military Police Company based in Bamberg, Germany. She was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt Moyer was killed on March 3, 2007, when an improvised explosive device detonated near her vehicle. She is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
