Michael Christopher Peek was born on September 18, 1983, in Silver Spring, Montgomery County, Maryland. He served with the 630th Military Police Company, 759th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, based in Bamberg, Germany. He was later deployed in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt Peek was killed on March 3, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his vehicle. He is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
