Jordan Christopher Schumann was born on December 12, 1986, in Florida. He was the son of Clay and Linda Schumann. He was married to Sarah Schumann. He served with the 709th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, based in Hohenfels, Germany. He was later deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Spc Schumann was killed on July 5, 2011, in Paktia Province when the vehicle in which he was riding struck an improvised explosive device during an enemy attack. He is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
