Bombadier of the B-26 Yankee Gorilla, took off from Bernes sur Oise to bomb the German barracks in Duren, Germany. Crashed due to mechanical problems by Rethondes, France. Hicks and three others were killed while two crewmembers survived. Buried in a communal plot with his crew.
