Hollis H. Ambrose was born on July 16, 1924 in Maryland. He enlisted in the Army on April 3, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted as being Single, without dependents. Hollis served as a Private First Class, 194th Glider Infantry, 17th Airborne Division, U.S. Army during World War II. PFC Ambrose was one of the 33 service members who were killed on site when a Horsa glider crashed on tookoff on December 12, 1944 at Greenham Common Airbase, England.
