Comments:

Pete B. Yslava was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force from California and served as the belly turret gunner for the 36th Bombardment Squadron, Heavy during World War II. On November 10, 1944, SGT Yslava's B-24 Liberator crashed just north of Tincourt-Boucly in Bois de Buire. During a secret Radio Counter Measure (RCM) mission to jam German radars for a RAF attack, Yslava's B-24 received flak, resulting in two of its engines failing. The pilot of the aircraft, 1LT Hornsby, ordered the crew to bail out. Three crew members died in the crash. Everyone else survived the crash, including SGT Yslava.
