Sgt Pinkram Fultz, Jr., mechanic of the B-26 Marauder 43-34141, took off from A-50 Orléans-Bricy on a bombing mission over Arhweiler, Germany’s railroad. Although the mission was successful, just as they were about to land back in Bricy, their plane collided with B-26 Marauder 42-96271, killing both crews. Fultz left behind his wife Agnes, whom he had started a letter to the morning of the 7th. The words read “Baby, if I do not fly tomorrow, I will still write to you.”
