Harold L. Grout was born on March 3, 1914 in Nebraska, USA. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 206th Engineer Combat Battalion. He entered service in Idaho. He died on August 18, 1944, was initially buried at Villeneuve-sur-Auvers in France and is now buried at Brittany American Cemetery, St. James, France.
