When Pvt Richard Warren Kuhrmeier was born on March 8, 1924, in River Forest, Illinois, his father, Fred, was 39 and his mother, Pauline, was 31. He had one brother and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 43rd Cavalry Reconnaisance Squad. He entered service in Illinois. He died on August 16, 1944, was initially buried at Villeneuve-sur-Auvers in France and is now buried at Oakridge-Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
