The site is located in a 15th Century Villa, Ca’ Erizzo, along the Brenta River in the city of Bassano del Grappa. Bassano della Grappa is located where the Brenta River flows out of the mountain onto the Veneto Plain and was key to Italian defenses in 1917-18. Situated just north of the famous Palladian wooden bridge in the Bassano della Grappa town center, on the eastern riverbank of the Brenta River, Villa Ca’ Erizzo is an elegant structure built in the 15th century. The building complex, recently restored, now hosts the “Museum of Hemingway and the Great War”. The site is about a 10-minute walk from downtown Bassano Della Grappa. The park and the villa are not open to the public. Bassano della Grappa is about 75 kilometers from the Venice airport and is accessible by train or by car on the SS 47 road from the city of Padova.
