The site is located on the private Turnberry Golf Course in Girvan-Turnberry, Scotland. Turnberry is a golf resort on the Firth of Clyde in Ayrshire, southwest Scotland. The resort is 50 miles (80 km) south of Glasgow, on the A719 just north of the A77, overlooking the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig. The golf course was established in 1906 and the site is near the 12th hole of the Ailsa Craig course.
