Description:

This site is the location of a former WWII airbase. Two memorials are located here, one which honors victims of a glider crash at Greenham which occured on 12 December 1944, and another placed to honor all those who died during operations out of the base with special recognition to the 17th Airborne Division and 306th Bombardment Group..

The site is situated at the main entrance to the Greenham Common Business and Recreational Park (formerly Greenham Common Airbase). It is on the N side of the A-339 (Second Street W) approximately 6km SE of Newbury.
