Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery

Description:

Before this site was a military cemetery with a brick gateway, it functioned as a casualty clearing station during WWI. It now houses the graves of 9,901 WWI soldiers, to include Isolated Burials (ISOBs) of numerous Americans who served with British units and three who served in the US Army during World War 1.

A Commonwealth Military Grave Commission Cemetery located 12 Kms west of Ieper town centre, on the Boescheepseweg, a road leading from the N308 connecting Ieper to Poperinge.
