Details:

  Plaque

A rectangular plaque serves as a formal recognition and remembrance of American naval personnel who died while stationed or traveling through Menorca during the time the U.S. maintained a naval presence in the Mediterranean. It connects to the historical role of the U.S. Navy's Mediterranean Squadron, which operated in the region in the early to mid-19th century for anti-piracy operations, trade protection, and gunboat diplomacy. It lists each individual's name, the ship they served on, and the year of death. The plaque was officially dedicated on May 27, 2016.
