A large boulder set on a stone base with an inset grey plaque commemorating the C-47 crash.

Monument Text:

A la memoire des cinq membres d'equipage du Dakota Americain et des quinzes soldats blesses Allies et Allemands qui ont trouve la mort lors du crash du 1er Novembre 1944.

Sous la responsabilite de l'infirmiere Lieutenant Aleda D. Lutz DFC qui fut la premiere militaire Americaine tombee en operation au cours de la Deuxieme Guerre Mondiale.


English translation:

In memory of the US Dakota's five crew members and the fifteen wounded Allied and German soldiers who died in the November 1st 1944 crash.

They were under the responsibility of nurse Lieutenant Aleda D. Lutz DFC who became the first US service-member to die in operations during WWII.
