Edward Vincent Loustalot Jr. was born on March 17, 1919, in Franklin, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Edward Vincent Loustalot and Emma Anderson Loustalot.
He served in Company B, 1st Ranger Battalion, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. During the mission, Loustalot took command after the British Captain leading the assault was killed. He scaled a cliff with his men, was wounded three times, but was eventually cut down by enemy crossfire in his attempts to reach the machine gun nest at the top of the cliff. 2Lt Loustalot was Killed in Action on August 19, 1942, during the Dieppe Raid in France. He is now buried in Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville-en-Condroz, Arrondissement de Liège, Liège, Belgium.
