Walter D. Cooper was born in 1923. He was the son of George H. Cooper and Mildred M. Cooper. Walter served in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airbone Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 11, 1944 and is now buried in the Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware, USA. PVT Cooper was one of the brave American paratroopers of the 501st Inf who liberated the village of Eerde, The Netherlands from German forces.
