Marion Emerald Burnett served in the 363rd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He failed to return from an escort mission to Halle, Germany. He had lost contact with the flight, when formation repositioned for attack on Me109. He was lost near Munden, Germany in his P-51D 'Hi Phyl' #44-13745 aircraft. He was declared Killed in Action on September 13, 1944 and is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium.
