Harold D. Chandler served in the 362nd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group as a Flight Lieutenant/Fighter Fighter Pilot during World War II. He failed to return from an escort mission to Kassell, Germany in P-51D 'Pitter Pat' #44-13719. The plane was hit by flak and crashed 10 miles east of Koblenz, Germany on December 30, 1944. FLTLT Chandler was Killed in Action. His current burial place is unknown.
