James W. Leek was born on November 19, 1919. He served in the 364th Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. On September 28, 1944, 2LT Leek was killed in a training accident while flying the P-51B Mustang #43-6971. While on a two-ship training flight, Lt. Leek crashed at 1515hrs near West Quay, Foulness, England. He crashed 300 yards Southeast of Sandy Cottages and 500 yards West of Foulness Church. He is buried now in the Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise, Ada County, Idaho, USA.
