Lloyd G. Wells was born on September 24, 1919. He was the son of Morgan George Wells and Edith E. Wells. A crew member on the C-54 #42-72698, which on December 5, 1948, crashed on takeoff. Shortly after a night takeoff from Fassberg AFB, while in initial climb, the four engine aircraft stalled and crashed near the airport. All three crew members who taking part to the Berlin Airlift were killed. TSGT Wells is buried now in the New Hope Cemetery, Liberty, Clay County, Missouri, USA.
