Frederick Gustave Grey was a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Force and served as the navigator for the 36th Bombardment Squadron (H) during World War II. On November 10, 1944, 2LT Grey's squadron's B-24 bomber lost its number 3 and 4 engine during a Radar Counter Measure secret mission to jam German radars. The bomber crashed just north Tincourt-Boucly and exploded on impact, killing three crew members, including 2LT Grey. Most of the remains of Grey and the other two crew members who died in the crash are located in a common grave in the Cartigny Communal Cemetery, France.
