Frank Anthony Bartho was a sergeant in the United States Army Air Force and served as a nose turret gunner for 36th Bombardment Squadron, Heavy during World War II. On November 10, 1944, SGT Bartho's squadron's B-24 bomber lost its number 3 and 4 engine during a Radar Counter Measure secret mission to jam German radars. The bomber crashed just north Tincourt-Boucly and exploded on impact, killing three crew members, including SGT Bartho. Most of the remains of Bartho and the other two crew members who died in the crash are located in a common grave in the Cartigny Communal Cemetery.
