Glen Oris “Bud” Thompson was born on 1918. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II as a Second Lieutenant in the 850th Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group, Heavy. He entered service in Wisconsin. Co-pilot of the B-24 Liberator serial number 42-51124 5Z which took off at 2306 on 18 June 44 from Harrington, UK, on an ammunition drop to the French Resistance. The plane crashed due to unknown circumstances at 0030 on June 19, 1944, near Ferrières-en-Gâtinais, where he was temporarily buried . He was then buried at Villeneuve-sur-Auvers in France and is now at Hazel Ridge Cemetery, Elkhorn, Walworth County, Wisconsin, USA.
